DEACH bio:

Deach - one third of the chart-topping, record breaking group SmashProof, embarks on a solo career with his debut E.P titled Vision.

Vision – a collection of 6 themed tracks that highlight not only the rappers introspective maturity, but also Deach’s mastery of flow and unique delivery.

“[SmashProof] was a big learning experience for me” He explains life as an artist on the heels of being a member of the one of the most successful Hiphop groups in New Zealand history. “It taught me that R&B [currently] isn’t really working [like it used to] and it helped me write better [as an MC] so when you hear Vision you’ll hear that it’s not rushed, I actually sat there and [realized] it’s a whole different ball game now. I can’t have Sid and Ty carry me this time – I had to step up my game.”

Consisting of thought out meaningful songs, with Vision Deach touches on subjects ranging from infidelity (‘Tears’), to immigrant struggles (‘Never Knew’), his own struggle of beginning a career as a solo artist (‘Make It On My Own’) while ‘Visions’ lead single ‘Till I Say So’ is an energetic head-nod anthem that features the SmashProof sniper stepping out on his own and solidifying his MC status. “I didn’t want to go ‘poppy’ [for the single]. – I twisted up the flow, and it’s raw.” Continuing in that theme, Deach enlisted Young Sid and Kayo – MTC’s latest signee - on a cut specifically for the true Hiphop heads – with accompanying cuts from DJ Taktix.

Vision is a project that captures Deach in his prime. Produced entirely by MTC mainstays Twice As Nice, who Deach maintains pushed him in a new and often challenging direction for this project. “They and Kirk [of MTC] got the character out of me – All these years of rapping and doing R&B, working with them made me realize I’m a better writer than [I thought I was]” He admits “When I was in the studio with them they actually gave me a beat [at a time] like ‘Deach, here’s a beat, I want you to work on it’ [and] that was a good challenge for me because every song that’s on the E.P was a challenge.”

Deach, known as ‘The Sniper’, took the challenge bestowed upon him, ran with it, and delivered another chapter in the SmashProof legacy, and another notch in the MTC belt.

MTC welcomes Mila to the family:

HUGE congrats to our boy Tyree and his partner Kerry.

Their daughter, Mila was born earlier today. All are well and very happy.

Dope!

The MTC grind and the arrival of Mr. X:

It's been an exciting few months for us.

People claimed that we had a great year last year, but in all reality we only released one album and one E.P. But this year is a completely different story. We start 2010 with at least five albums ahead of us and several mini albums/E.P's.

It all kicks off with Derty Sesh's album on March 29th. Sesh was the new kid on the label for a hot minute, but that's all about to change, because we have someone else coming in to join the team imminently. To avoid any confusion in this post, we will refer to the incoming artist as Mr X. But more on that later.

You know, it's funny to think that we are kicking off the year with an act that was only signed to the label at the close of 2009, but all credit to Sesh; he was ready launch and we caught him mid-launch for the alley-oop.

And while we're at it, look for Sesh's "Really Don't Care" remix to drop later today and his mixtape on Feb 22nd. In the meantime Sesh and Eth have been churning out a box-sets worth of tracks in the MTC studio together, so anything could happen with that material. Sesh also reckons his second album will be ready to mix in April, so expect that to drop in this calendar year.

A couple of weeks later we will unveil Young Sid's new opus. That set will be supported by a single that features Mr X and is produced by Twice As Nice. The album is close to finished and we have been discussing some very cool release strategies with iTunes and Universal. Stay tuned for more details.

Then it's Kidz In Space time in May, and i'm happy to report that their album is shaping up to be all that we expected and then some. They have a monster single up their sleeves with a track called "On The Road" and i can't wait to unveil it to you all.

Deach will also drop his debut solo project in May, and i think he has created a solid piece of work that will surprise a few haters out here. It's a very thoughtful piece of work and is far from being the RnB stylings that people expect from him.

In the to be scheduled category, we have two mini-albums from Tyree almost completed, a mini-album from Sir T, an album from Australian artist Kid Mac (via a new venture with Twice As Nice) and a mixtape, mini-album and album from Mr X.

And who is this Mr.X? You will find out very very soon, he's in the lab readying his opening salvo to present to you all as we speak.

And they said we have a good year last year. This is going to be fun.

DERTY SESH - "Really Don't Care" (Remix) video dropping tomorrow:

We liked this tune so much that we decided to make a visual for it. No frills, no NZ on Air, just a little something to throw out there until Sesh's next single drops...
